Stowe's Planning & Zoning Department provides a variety of services that include:

  • Reviewing and issuing zoning permits for compliance with the Stowe Zoning and Subdivision Regulations
  • Professional services for community planning & development, transportation planning, housing and urban improvement, land conservation, and historic preservation
  • Facilitating the development review process and guiding applicants in the permit process
  • Providing guidance on other local and state permits that may be needed for a project
  • Coordinating town sewer and town water allocations required for a development
  • Updates to the Town of Stowe Zoning Regulations and Town Plan
  • Providing staff assistance to the Development Review Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Commission, and Conservation Commission
  • Assisting with parcel research regarding past development
  • Enforcing the Stowe Zoning and Subdivision Regulations
  • Coordinating 911 addressing
