How do I________________? 

Get Copies of Tax Bills ~ Please email the Town Clerk’s office.  We will email, fax or mail a copy to you.

Obtain a Certified Birth and Death CertificateCertified Copy of Birth or Death Certificate.  Once completed email, fax or mail the request along with a copy of your valid driver’s license and a check or money order for $10.00 per certified copy. We will mail the certified copy to you via the United States Postal Service or stop by to pick up at the Memorial Building.

License my Dog ~ Visit the Town Clerk's office or paperwork can be mailed, left in the drop box, along with checks or money orders made payable to the Town of Stowe.  If your dog has recently had its rabies vaccination, please include copy of vaccination. After April 1st the fees will increase to $13.50 altered and $19.50 to unaltered.

Register my vehicle ~ You can renew online at DMV Express Renewal or by mail. 

Obtain a Marriage License ~ Complete the following application and email to townclerk@stowevt.gov we will set up an appointment at that time to schedule a time to sign and obtain the license.  Certified copies will be processed once the officiant returns the license to the Town Clerk’s office, usually mailed out within 24 hours of receipt.

Renew My Passport~ By appointment only, please call (802) 253-6133 or email townclerk@stowevt.gov to schedule.  All forms can be found at www.travel.state.gov  

Get my Hunting and/or Fishing License ~ To review or apply for a license please visit the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Special Event Permit, Request to Cater, etc. ~ Please submit all Department of Liquor Control applications to townclerk@stowevt.gov. Any fee that is required should be forwarded to the Vermont Department of Liquor Control, 13 Green Mountain Drive, Montpelier, Vermont 05602.  Any questions can also be submitted to the town clerk’s email address, or you can find more information at the Department of Liquor and Lottery ~ Division of Liquor Control.

Next Property Tax Payment Due Monday, September 16th, 2024 by 4:30 PM (Eastern Standard Time)

Tax Payments are always due on the 15th of August, November, February & May.  If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date becomes the next business day.

Automatic Tax Payment Program (ACH Debit)

Enjoy the safety and convenience of enrolling in a free automatic tax payment program.  Tax installments on August 15, November 15, February 15 and May 15 will be automatically withdrawn from your U.S. bank account.

Vital Records Application Form ~ To request a certified copy of a Birth or Death Certificate, you must complete the application form and submit it to the Town Clerk's Office.
 
Affidavit of Homeless Status Form ~ Used to verify an individual's status as a homeless person, must be submitted with the Vital Records Application form, if applicable.
