The Stowe Historic Preservation Commission (SHPC) performs design review for exterior alterations, demolition and relocation of historic buildings and for any development within the Stowe Historic Overlay District (SHOD). In addition, the SHPC promotes town projects that foster historic preservation. The Commission is proud of its record of helping promote development that is aesthetically compatible with the existing historic character of the Stowe Village and Lower Village and with other historic buildings outside of the SHOD.  Click here to view the Stowe Historic Sites Survey.  

Sarah McShane, Zoning Administrator, (802-253-6141) coordinates the Board's agenda and does an initial review of all applications.

The Board normally meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:15 pm in the Akeley Memorial Building (Town Hall) Memorial Hall, located at 67 Main Street.
