A meeting of the Stowe Historic Preservation Commission (SHPC) was held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 starting at approximately 5:15 pm.

Project 4274: Morgan Gregory (Under contract), 1450 River Rd (corner Shaw Hill and River Roads), Demolish part of building, construct addition, façade changes
Morgan Gregory was present to discuss the request to demolish a rear portion of the house and to create a new addition. Drawings prepared by Cushman Designed dated 7/26/10 were reviewed.
A motion was made by Ms. Baraw to approve as submitted and to classify the project as a minor modification. Motion passed 5-0.
Project 4227: DoctorsPark Realty LLC, 1250 Waterbury Rd, Demolition of Part of Building and Construction of New Building
Darrow Mansfield was present to discuss the plans. Elevations prepared by Patten Design dated 7/26/10 and a site plan prepared by Darrow Mansfield dated 7/27/10 were reviewed. . Mr. Dixon recused himself from the review given his role coordinating the project bidding process and possible role as the contractor.
The Commission found the removal of the non-brick portion of the historic building was desirable and accepted the proposed changes to the brick building. Concerns were raised about the large windows and front entry on the new building. Concerns were also raised by one member about the fake barn doors in the rear, but other members were not in agreement that this was a major concern given its location. The applicant will return at a later date with revised plans to address the large windows and entry area.
Project 4207: TJVT LLC, 504 Mountain Rd, Revision of previously approved plans for construction of new office/retail/apartment building
David Wolfgang was present to discuss the application. Revised elevations prepared by Kim Brown dated 7/27/10 were reviewed. Two additional doors are proposed in the rear.
A motion was made by Ms. Baraw to approve as submitted and to classify the project as a minor modification. Motion passed 5-0.
