Fee Discussion: Members discussed fees prior to presenting to the Selectboard on Monday, June 14th. Mr. Godin indicated he now has to provide 2 people to prepare the grave/cover, which is approximately 9 hours of manpower. Proposed raising fees for “Opening for Full Burial” to $450. Bruce said a winter burial will take longer, i.e. moving/plowing snow, preparing the site, care needs to be taken so other graves are not affected; need to probe/shovel to find the exact location on the site etc. Mr.Godin felt this needs to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Members approved the changes being proposed which if approved will become part of the new Rules & Regs as of July 1, 2010.

Mr. Godin’s Report:

(1) Mr. Godin stated Mr. Boyea is preparing a price for the White House renovation.

(2) Some money left in stone restoration and Bruce will ask Kuhn to do additional stones up to the $1200.

(3) Cemetery crew will be getting get rid of all plastics on the lots immediately as they are becoming a problem. They will be stored for a period of time in the White House.

Viewing of the Hearses: Mrs. Adams said that Mrs Fagan had contacted Pat Haslam about doing rubbings in the cemeteries. The Commission currently does not allow that to take place.

Mrs. Adams told members a class from the elementary school would like to view the hearses. She will get a definite date and time and contact Bruce to see if he can be present. Pat Haslam will be there to give the history of the hearses.

Book # 2: Barbara Allaire offered to get the information (fliers/order blanks) out to the list of Vt. Cemeteries. Mrs. Demeritt volunteered to help.

Treasurer’s Report:  Mr. von Trapp stated there was not much to report and the budget is being closed out for this year. The $7,000 has been transferred from the Commission’s budget to that of Mr. Godin’s. Additional brochures will be ordered for the kiosks and paid out of this year’s budget.

Judy Demeritt re: Memorial /stone: when the town redid the vault a few years ago, she took some of the granite blocks. She would now like to have a monument made of the blocks, which could be done but extremely expensive. They are looking at an alternative way to possibly get this done. The Commission felt it could be approved, even though there would be no guarantee for the memorial.

Election of Officers Mrs. Demeritt moved to elect the current slate of officers. Mrs. Adams told members the position as Chair is very time consuming and is a demanding part of her life. She asked that others help in any way they can if she were to accept chair again. Mrs. Demeritt offered her services when she is available. Mr. von Trapp seconded the motion with all in favor.

       Chair:   Donna Adams
        Vice Chair: Leigh Tabor

        Treasurer: George von Trapp

Review of Rules & Regulations: Membersreviewed the changes being proposed to the Selectboard, which are considered minor with all members approving the changes.

July Meeting: to be held JUNE 29, 2010.

There being no further discussion to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 9:45 A.M.
