
Stowe Historic Preservation Commission TOWN OF STOWE July 21, 2008 Minutes A special meeting of the Stowe Historic Preservation Commission (SHPC) was held on Monday, July 21, 2008 in the Akeley Memorial Building starting at approximately noon. This meeting was held in lieu of the normally scheduled July 23, 2008 meeting due to the inability to have a quorum present on July 23rd. Members Presents: Sam Scofield, Chair Tim Meehan Cindy McKechnie Barbara Baraw (Not present for Project 3794) Jean Innamorati Staff Present: Richard Baker, Zoning Director Project 3794, 56 Park Street, Applicant: Steve Sisler. Minor façade changes in rear of building. Steve Sisler presented the presented plans to add a small wall and deck to the rear of the building. Sketches dated 7/18/08 were submitted. Mr. Meehan moved to recommend approval as submitted and to classify the project as a minor modification. The motion was approved 4-0. Project 3792, 128 Main Street, Applicant: Sam Scofield. Minor revisions to previously approved façade. Sam Scofield presented the presented revised elevations dated 7/17/08. Modifications to the south elevation include: § Removal of skylights § Revising the 3 windows to 4 four-light awning windows § Adding a roof over the basement door § Changing a window to a door The east elevation included a modified window and removing the existing bay. The west elevation included adding a porch post. A change to the front door entry was proposed, but the applicant requested that this portion of the project be removed from the Commission's consideration. Ms. Innamorati suggested that the applicant explore other modifications for the front door entry. Any change to the front entry will require further review and action by the Commission. Ms. McKechnie moved to recommend approval as submitted and to classify the project as a minor modification. The motion was approved 4-0 (with Mr. Scofield abstaining).
