
PLANNING COMMISSION TOWN OF STOWE March 19, 2007 Minutes The Stowe Planning Commission held a meeting on Monday, March 19, 2007, in the Banquet Room of the Akeley Memorial Building, starting at 5:30 p.m. Members present: Scott Noble, Chair Bob Evans Paul Percy Barbara Pfitzenmayer Members absent: Lynn Altadonna, Chuck Baraw Others present: Tom Jackman, Director of Planning; Jennifer Hezel, Zoning Assistant Minutes The minutes of the February 5, 2007 meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Noble, seconded by Ms. Pfitzenmayer. Planning Director Report Mr. Jackman presented the Planning Commission with briefs about the following topics: - Incorporating a ride through Stowe into a bike race starting in Montreal and ending in Boston.
- Mr. Jackman requested that the Planning Commission make a recommendation that the Town contract Crane and Associates to implement a marketing survey reviewed by a committee formed ad hoc to address economic development in the downtown area of Stowe. The committee consisted of Valerie Rochon, Lynn Altadonna, Scott Noble, and Tom Jackman. Mr. Percy moved, Mr. Noble seconded.
- Mr. Jackman mentioned that Scott Noble and Justin Rabidoux were recently elected to the Lamoille County Planning Commission Board.
- Mr. Jackman updated the Planning Commission about a presentation Dave Pelletier will be making to the Selectboard about a bike/pedestrian lane.
- Mr. Jackman presented an update regarding an abandoned structure on a parcel on the corner of Goldbrook Road. The owner has suggested that he would tear down the structure this spring. The Planning Commission requested specific information about when the structure would be taken down and would like Mr. Jackman to provide an update at the next meeting.
Discussion about Zoning Districts - WBCSD: Ms. Pfitzenmayer suggested absorbing the WBCSD into the RR-1 and RR-2 Districts. Mr. Percy suggested there was no reason. The Commission will take up this discussion at the next meeting when additional members are present.
Discussion about Zoning Regulations · Mr. Jackman presented Sections 2, Section 3, and Section 4 of the Stowe Zoning Regulations for review, edit and general update. Members present were able to agree on several updates to Section 2 that will be included in the updated version of the Stowe Zoning Regulations.
