Mountain Road Village Sidewalk
Saturday, November 29, 2014
STOWE, VT - The Town of Stowe will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony along with the Mountain Road Village District merchants to recognize the completion of phase one of the Mountain Road Village sidewalk project. The ribbon cutting will be held at noon on November 29th at the intersection of Cape Cod Road and Mountain Road adjacent to Mountain Associates Realtors. The general public is welcome to attend. The ribbon cutting ceremony is part of an afternoon celebration of Small Business Saturday taking place in the Mountain Road Village District and across the town of Stowe (see www.gostowe.com/shopsmall for details). At the 2014 Annual Meeting, voters approved $340,000 for this first phase from Cape Cod Rd. to the Gale Farm Center. The new sidewalk creates a safe continuous sidewalk from historic Stowe Village to the Mountain Road Village. It also helps fulfill the goal of the Stowe Town Plan to improve pedestrian safety and create walkable villages. The Mountain Road Village is established as a local growth center in the Town Plan and is meant to support residential and business development on a village scale. The project was designed by Grenier Engineering of Waterbury, constructed by H. A. Manosh, of Morrisville and overseen by the Public Works Department. The Town would also like to express appreciation to the property owners and businesses along Mountain Road for their cooperation in providing the necessary easements and for putting up with the disruption during the construction process.STOWE TRAFFIC ALERTS
